Calling all Zetasizer Nano users……we need your vote!!

I am sure that you will have seen the activity around the launch of the Zetasizer Nano ZSP following its launch into the market last year. A lot of you may even have one of these instruments in your laboratory! Well, now is your chance to have your say as to whether or not it should win the SelectScience award for Best Spectroscopy Product of 2012. Voting is open now (and closes very soon!) therefore if you are also of the belief that the Zetasizer Nano ZSP is worthy of such a prestigious award then please make your voice heard. Vote here.

The Zetasizer Nano ZSP is a single, compact unit. It shares the simplicity and ease of use that have made Zetasizer Nano systems a firm favourite in industry and academia for almost a decade. Where the Zetasizer Nano ZSP stands apart, however, is in its unique performance specifications for both size and zeta potential measurement. One of the most significant applications being the measurement of the zeta potential, or electrophoretic mobility, of proteins. This is further simplified by a new protein mobility measurement type in the software that controls data acquisition, guides the user through the measurement and assesses and reports on data quality.

The Zetasizer Nano ZSP has the count rate sensitivity needed to measure weakly scattering samples such as proteins, and the instrument’s protein mobility measurement process maximises measurement quality using three specific features:

  • The Zetasizer software continually monitors for the presence of  aggregates during the measurement using a combination of size and zeta potential measurements, and alerts the user if they start to form.
  • Mobility measurements are performed in groups of sub-runs for extended cooling periods, reducing the possibility of aggregation through heating.
  • Automatic optimization of measurement settings minimizes denaturation and aggregation during mobility measurements.
