The Malvern Panalytical annual Pittsburgh user group is back on May 16-17 at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott. This is our 27th year bringing the latest information on X-ray diffraction and X-ray fluorescence to industry and academic users in the area, and offers a great opportunity to network with Malvern Panalytical specialists and other attendees, discuss research and share best practices. The meeting runs two days and includes a customer appreciation dinner on the evening in between.

One of the presentations this year will be from Tomohiro Shibata, Senior Engineer in the X-ray lab at Kennametal entitled “Residual stress characterization of PVD coated carbide –industrial application”. Tomohiro added “I have been working at Kennametal for three years, so I did not miss [the user meeting] so far. The value of the meeting is that we can get to know folks from local universities, industries, PANalytical experts in person, sharing knowledge about methods, capabilities etc. Also, the meeting is fairly informal with a relaxed atmosphere, so a lot of opportunities to ask questions, answers etc. in the session and between the sessions”.

Customers in the area are encouraged to attend one or both days and bring your technical challenges for the afternoon roundtable discussions. See you in Pittsburgh!
