Analysis of a wide range of alternative fuel materials using a single calibration method

In this application note we will show a robust calibration for the analysis of solid alternative fuel materials with Epsilon 5 Alternative Fuels using a series of CRMs with different compositions. To indicate the applicability of our approach, we have analyzed plant CRMs as routine samples against our calibrations and compared certified vs. measured values.

Alternative fuels commonly originate from widely varying sources and tend to be heterogeneous in terms of both material type (e.g. oil, plastic, biomass) and chemical composition. For XRF this is less of a problem than for other analytical techniques.
