Sand is mostly used as a raw material in the production of many industrial products such as glass and cement, while aluminosilicates are used in the building, refractory and catalyst industry. It is important to know the exact compound concentrations of these materials so they remain within the tolerances over time, contribute to cost savings and avoid waste. This project demonstrates that the use of borate fusion with Claisse LeDoser and LeNeo instruments are highly efficient in the preparation of sand and aluminosilicate samples for the analysis with an XRF spectrometer. You will discover that it is fast, easy and efficient. Borate fusion is an excellent alternative to other sample preparation techniques in the laboratory.
演讲嘉宾
Gabrielle Cantin - Application Specialist in Fusion
Gabrielle obtained her bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2013 from Université Laval. She completed her master’s degree in 2018. Her postgraduate project was to develop a non-dispersive and liquid extracting method for rare earth elements. She joined Claisse, now Malvern Panalytical, in 2015. Before that, she used to work at the university’s center of chemicals management. Gabrielle is now part of the application team and is focused on providing effective solutions for clients having issues with samples preparation by borate fusion.
