RoHS, WEEE and ELV analysis of PVC in accordance with F2617-08

This data sheet describes a straightforward, robust method for the analysis of RoHS elements in polyvinylchloride (PVC), according to F2617 using a PANalytical Epsilon 3X EDXRF spectrometer.

Manufacturers of the many plastic components found in electronic devices have to comply with the RoHS-2 Directive. RoHS-2, being the most extensive, restricts the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) flame-retardants in electrical and electronic equipment. Epsilon 3X – an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer – provides a perfect solution for RoHS-2/WEEE /ELV analysis according to ASTM F2617-08.
